In the first part of my adult life my focus was on achieving my Associates in Applied Sciences degree in Animal Health Technology. I worked for 12 years in the Veterinary field as a Veterinary Technician. My love for animals guided that part of my life and it carries over today in the fun I have photographing them.
During those early years I discovered that I had an interest and a talent in Photography and it became my hobby. I took a college level photography course and attended a seminar or two. I was seldom without a camera on any outing.
In 2000 and 2002 I was blessed with the births of my children. Motherhood has been the most rewarding aspect of my life thus far. Children are such a gift and a joy, and they grow so quickly that the stages must be documented. My children have shown me how patience goes a long way and also just how challenging and rewarding photographing these little people can be. Families and relationships in photographs are very powerful to me. They are enduring impressions of where we have been and who we are.
I have always been captivated by how changing light can give an ordinary scene new perspective. I enjoy creating new ways of looking at common objects in nature by highlighting the details that are often overlooked.
I also enjoy helping people shine in photographs. I love the evolution of a subject as they get more comfortable with me and in their own energy as we progress through an hour photo session. Every session is an adventure, every result unique and lasting.
