Preparing For Your Sitting
Wild Sage Studios is located on Rt. 138 in Dighton, Ma. We are on the second floor of the Dighton Rock Plaza. The entrance is to the middle of the building in between Curves and the nail salon. There is an elevator inside the glass entryway. Once out of the elevator on the second floor go through the door in front of you and to the left through another doorway. The studio is the first door on the right. If you have a problem with elevators, let me know and I can unlock the stairwell in front of Curves for you.
We will do our best to schedule your sitting at a time that is right for you. In the case of small children and babies, take into account their moods. When is the best time of day for them? Make sure the appointment we set does not coincide with a snack or meal time, or a nap time. A happy subject makes for nicer photos!
Your session will last about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Your photos as they were taken can be viewed before you leave to make sure you are happy with what we have created. The proofs will be available online within 48 hours of your sitting. I will email you a link and password so that you and your family, and anyone you chose to view the pictures are the ONLY ones with access. If you do not have internet access I can print a proof sheet for you. We will look over the proofs in the studio before you leave to make sure you have poses that appeal to you.
The sitting fee is payable at the time of the sitting. You can order your prints by email or phone, or if you would like we can meet again at the studio to place your order, discuss any custom cropping or mounting or Christmas cards you may need.
Prints must be paid in full by check or cash at the time you pick them up at the studio. After placing your order, prints are usually back within 7-10 days.
Proofs will remain in the online gallery for 90 days. We ask that initial print orders be placed within 30 days of your sitting.
Tips To Remember
Don’t forget a comb or a brush.
Feel free to bring one or two additional outfits. There is a changing room available. Bring the extra clothes on hangers, not stuffed into bags, to avoid wrinkles.
Keep the outfits simple. Solid colors work best. Be careful selecting stripes, plaids. If these are preferred try to coordinate more than one child for instance with the same pattern, or have one with the stripe or plaid and the other in a solid. Avoid wild patterns and words on clothing such as screen prints. These can be very busy in photos, drawing the eye to the shirt instead of the expression on the face we hope to capture.
When multiple children or an entire family will be the subject of the photo, please try to coordinate the clothing as best as possible.
Pick clothing that reflect your child’s personality. There is more charm to a photo that captures your child’s essence.
Jeans, overalls for the little ones, hats, jackets, dresses, all work great. As do tan pants with white or denim shirts. We want you looking and feeling good and as comfortable as possible for this session.
Also feel free to bring props that you might want to use in a photo. Things that reflect the subjects personality are good. Also babies and toddlers might have a special toy or stuffed animal that will help the session go more smoothly and evoke great memories in a photo. Bring these along.
If your pet will be included in the photo, please give them a chance to relieve themselves outside before entering the building. We want them to be as comfortable as possible also.
If a sitting must be cancelled, please try to give 24 hours notice.
